Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) is a Humanitarian Relief organization that works to save lives and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. KRCS has been on the forefront youth empowerment in line with the 3 Es framework of the IFRC/KRCS youth engagement strategy (Empowerment, Education & Creating Enabling Environment for youth)

The Program

In partnership with the Airbus Foundation and with support from the Travelling Telescope, we wish to introduce you to the Airbus Foundation Discovery Space, an innovative program that seeks to instill the youth with passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), as well as knowledge on outer space and the industry behind it. The first workshops under this partnership were conducted in March 2020 within 4 schools in Makueni County, before the closure of schools due to Covid-19. The Key objectives of the AFDS program are:

· To instill in youth, the passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

· To introduce the students to the world of robotics and the plethora of opportunities available in the space industry

· To unleash their potential and nurture their passion so they can contribute efficiently to the future of Airbus Space.

· Get an entry point in some communities and start conversations of youth empowerment

· Encouraging positive behavior change among the youth through the Kenya Red Cross Youth Programs



Registration and Deadline

We are pleased to announce that the workshops will continue and will be conducted online from 22nd July 2020. We invite all young people between the age of 12 and 18 to sign up for this FREE program, as there are limited slots per session.
